Local people call the column “Gao Dian”, which has obviously weathered after a hundred years. A temple called Heishui Temple (Black Water Temple) used to stand on the summit and can be indistinctly seen in the original photo, but is now in ruins. There are many myths and legends regarding this temple. For example, a king once slew a black dragon and its equally colored blood streamed into the river... one of the many explanations for its name. March 9, 2009.
